это был /etc/X11/xinit.d/imwheel из пакета imwheel
т.е. если imwheel поставился , то сразу и запускается автоматом .
логично ;-)
PS заодно _большое_ спасибо разработчикам !
на моей материнке CUSL2 с интегрированным UDMA-100 hdparm -t показал 35
Mb/sec. В прежних дистрибутивах было порядка 2.5 Mb/sec
