А зачем нужны сабжевые пакеты? Они вроде идентичные по содержанию, а
установлены оба. Объясните, пожалуйста.

Второй устраняет первый в связи с так называемой libification.
Устранение прописано в самом пакете и по идее он должен были предыдущий
удалить перед установкой. На самом деле это одно и то же, только
переименованное.
