Итак. Все работает через pptp, и сервер говорит мне "Welcome!", но потом
pppd пишет, что не может найти модуль ppp-compress-1. При этом ничего,
кажется, не работает, т.е. в инет не ходится. В винде в свойствах VPN
соединения
значится compression (none). В параметрах pppd я говорил deflate 0, похоже
не помогло.
Подскажите, пожалуйста, что дальше с этим делать.
Заранее спасибо за помощь.

стандартный алиас должен быть в modules.conf
примерно так
alias ppp-compress-1 mod_deflate
alias ppp-compress-5 mod_bsdcomp
уточнить в документации на модули ядра
