The first release candidate of ALT Education 11.1 has been built.

Key changes:

* The GRUB theme has been restored in both the installer and the 
installed system.
* The disk partitioning step in the installer has been updated: before 
applying the default profile, a page is shown explaining how the disks 
will be partitioned.
* Installation of “education components” has been brought back to the 
installer (in the “additional applications” step).
* The component selection step has been moved before disk partitioning; 
checks/warnings were added when the root filesystem is too small.
* **ALT Components** have been added — a new GUI interface for 
installing components in the installed system (similar to the installer 
/ ALT Center).
* `gnutls-utils` has been added; token support packages are now 
installed automatically.
* An ESPD certificate (Rostelecom) has been added to the installer 
components.
* A shortcut to the HTML branding page (license/links) has been restored 
on the desktop after installation.
* In the “additional applications” step, the desktop environment choice 
is now **mutually exclusive**: you can select **only one — KDE Plasma or 
Xfce** (to avoid issues when selecting “none” or “both”).
* A bug causing two Bluetooth icons in the KDE Plasma panel has been fixed.

Key software updates included in the image:

* **OpenBoard** updated: `1.7.1-alt3 → 1.7.3-alt7` (including a move to 
a Qt6-based build and behavior/widget fixes).

* Notable KDE applications/utilities updated from `24.12.x → 25.08.x`, 
including:

   * `kate`
   * `filelight`
   * `skanpage`
   * `dolphin`
   * `okular`
   * `konsole`
   * `gwenview`
   * etc.

* KDE/Plasma stack updated from `6.3.5 → 6.4.6`, including:

   * `plasma-workspace`
   * `plasma-desktop`
   * `kwin`
   * `spectacle`
   * `systemsettings`
   * `bluedevil`
   * etc.

* Thunar updated: `4.20.3 → 4.20.6` (including localization fixes in ALT 
builds).

* Chromium updated: `136.0.7103.113 → 142.0.7444.175`.

* Printing subsystem: `cups 2.4.11 → 2.4.14`.

* Audio/multimedia: `wireplumber 0.5.8 → 0.5.11`.

* Thunderbird updated: `138.0 → 145.0` (including vulnerability fixes).

* Veyon updated: `4.9.5 → 4.9.7`.

* Calibre updated: `7.5.1 → 8.4.0`.

* TRIK Studio updated: `2025.2 → 2025.4`.
