A new version of the GPUpdate package 0.9.11.2 has been released. It is a tool which updates group policies on ALT operating systems. The GPUpdate mechanisms apply group policies to both computers and users on client machines. GPUpdate is a part of an alternate solution by Basalt Ltd. to implement an Active Directory domain for Linux. The facility supports MS AD or Samba DC domain infrastructure. In 0.9.11.2 the possibilities of applying group policies have been expanded. The new release of the tool supports applying of all Mozilla Firefox and Chromium web browser group policies to computer. Some added mechanisms for applying script policies - logon/logoff/startup/shutdown; mechanisms for applying system settings parameters (preferences): operations with files (Files), directories (Folders), configuration files (Ini-files). A new action to update the status of services in gpupdate-setup is added - update key runs all required services when the initiated gpupdate is refreshing. Application of custom policies in terms of correct operation and security has been improved. In release 0.9.11.2 systemd has the system timer (gpupdate.timer) and the user timer (gpupdate-user.timer) to monitor and control the execution time of the gpupdate.service. Now gpupdate refresh is configured via a timer. The Group Policy loopback processing mode has been optimized. This policy allows you to override the settings of one GPO over the settings of another GPO for users of the last one. Thus the GPUpdate tool new version enhances policies applicability in domain for Linux. You can install gpupdate from the p10 stable branch of the ALT repositories: https://packages.altlinux.org/ru/p10/srpms/gpupdate/ -- WBR, Maria Fokanova http://altlinux.org
