I saw the post from Alexandre, but it was just a bunch of numbers and
letters...what do I need to do to be able to read it? I read Jorge
Cerdio's reply.

[root@localhost root]# rpm -qa alsa
[root@localhost root]#

I dont know if this helps at all?
[root@localhost root]# urpmq alsa
The following packages contain alsa: alsa2-utils alsa24-smp alsa24-up
