If you want you can try to download beta and install from it: ftp://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/people/rider/ISO/compact-20030910.iso It has more fresh drivers and IIRC R9200 was reported as working. If it's not an option (though this beta seems rather working than not to me), then you'd better describe more precisely what was the problem with XF86 4.3 upgrade.
