New distribution release is based on Platform 11 stable repository branch. The build is available for x86_64 and AArch64 Platform 11 (p11 Salvia branch), based on the 6.12 kernel. Download the release image: http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/p11/images/virtualization/ https://download.basealt.ru/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/p11/images/virtualization/ https://mirror.yandex.ru/altlinux/p11/images/virtualization/ Updated versions of server software: * PVE 8.4 * LXC 6.0 * QEMU 9.2 * Ceph 19.2 * Squid 7.0 * Openssl 3.3 * Proxmox Backup Client 3.3 * Openvswitch 3.3 * Corosync 3.1 * Glusterfs 11.1 * ZFS 2.3 System Environment Glibc 2.38, GCC 13 compiler suite, systemd 255. Features The distribution now delivers multiple products within a single package. These integrated products are referred to as "editions": * ALT Virtualization 11.0 edition PVE; * ALT Virtualization 11.0 edition OpenNebula. Currently, edition PVE is available. ALT Virtualization 11.0 edition PVE The key distinction of this edition is its provision of a unified platform built on KVM virtualization and LXC containerization technologies. This platform enables the creation and management of virtual machines and containers via a single web interface, command-line interface (CLI), or API. In cluster operation, features include configuration file synchronization using the clustered file system pmxcfs, live migration of virtual machines, and the ability for any cluster node to perform management functions. A High Availability (HA) cluster is available, ensuring fault-tolerant service operation. Authentication is implemented using Linux PAM, built-in authentication, LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory, Samba AD, or OpenID Connect. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) grants administrative privileges to users or groups. The integrated backup system interfaces with the Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) (included with "ALT Server" 11.0). Snapshot support is provided for ZFS, LVM-thin, Ceph RBD, and qcow2 on file-based storage. Networking Network management is handled by the ifupdown2 package. Replacement of the network subsystem occurs during the upgrade to version 11 of the distribution (https://www.altlinux.org/Update/p11-PVE). Proxmox VE utilizes the Linux network stack with support for advanced technologies like bonding. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is also available, delivering virtual networks via three methods: VLAN, VXLAN, and QinQ. The native firewall can be configured either through the graphical user interface (GUI) or the command-line interface (CLI). Changes * The installer has been redesigned. During installation, an LVM Thin Pool volume is automatically created for data storage. The fully configured Proxmox VE node, set up during network configuration, is ready for immediate creation of virtual machines and LXC containers without additional steps. * The Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) web interface has been improved. * PVE web interface now allows management of software packages and repositories, as well as operating system updates. * Virtual machines can now be imported directly from VMware ESXi storage via the web interface. * The tuned system performance optimization service is now installed by default, utilizing the virtual-host profile. * Access to host resources within PVE is now available, including USB devices, PCI devices, and host directories.
