Hello!

11 update of ALT Workstation K operating system is available. New 
distribution release is based on Platform 11 (p11 Salvia stable branch).

The build is available for x86_64, based on the 6.12 (LTS) kernel, that 
provides extended support for modern 14th generation Intel processors.

The distribution delivers an up-to-date package repository and enhanced 
system security.


System Environment

* GCC 14 compiler suite;
* systemd 255.18;
* Glibc 2.38.


Desktop Environment

KDE Plasma 6 (Plasma 6.3, Frameworks 6.12, Gear 24.12) featuring:
* Qt toolkit implementation;
* Native Wayland support (X11 retained for NVIDIA GPUs);
* Hardware-accelerated graphics via Mesa DRI Drivers (OpenGL/Vulkan 
compatible).

User Experience Enhancements:
* Restored 3D workspace cube switching;
* Redesigned workspace overview with legacy Overview and Grid effects;
* Streamlined System Settings interface;
* Optimized file search in Recent Files.

Secure Boot compatibility restored for modern hardware platforms.


Updated Application Versions:

- Mesa 24.3.
- NVIDIA 470, 390. 570 series driver support added - providing optimal 
performance for: RTX 40xx GPUs in gaming, 3D rendering workloads and AI 
acceleration.
- FFmpeg 7.1 multimedia framework.
- Java 21.
- Bacula 15 backup solution.
- Bash 5.0 interpreter

- Qmmp 2.1 audio player.
- Chromium(GOST) 134.0 web browser (default). Yandex Browser (available 
as optional component during installation).


Innovations

- Installer now operates from a Live image base instead of a minimal 
system. Proprietary NVIDIA drivers are utilized during installation, 
improving performance.
- Redesigned installation workflow with improved UI/UX: software 
selection before disk partitioning enables accurate storage allocation 
for applications
- Replaced boot subsystem with altboot. It provides enhanced network 
configuration capabilities and further development of the installer.
- LUKS2 disk encryption (replacing LUKS1) offers superior protection 
against attacks.
- Standardized UID 1000 for first user (following Linux conventions).
- PipeWire as default sound server.
- GameMode optimization for enhanced gaming performance.
- kio-admin implements a new protocol admin:/ which gives administrative 
access to the entire system.
- The Discover application center now displays the latest change for 
each package during system updates.
- Added brightness widget to task panel for adjusting built-in and 
external display settings.
- Secure Samba printing with CUPS using Kerberos authentication for 
Active Directory domains.
- OpenFortiVPN added: SSL-VPN gateway client with NetworkManager 
integration.


Platform 11 updates included:

New tools added:
* Surguch - PDF digital signature solution.
* Kopidel - automated system anonymization tool (developed by BaseALT LTD).
