Hello everybody,

We are glad to announce the release of ALT Linux 4.0 OfficeServer, a
Linux distribution for SMBs.
ALT Linux 4.0 OfficeServer is a server OS with the fixed functionality
and web-based setup tools. It inherits its paradigm from ALT Linux 2.3
SOHO Server product that proved to be successful in Russia and other
countries.
We're sorry, but our site has no page about OfficeServer in English.

What's new (compared with ALT Linux 2.3 SOHO Server):
* modern package base of ALT Linux 4.0 branch, that includes both
updated and totally new programs;
* Linux kernel 2.6.18 with many security patches and driver updates;
* ALTerator - our innovational framework for installation and setup;
* LDAP-based storage of user data (most network services in OfficeServer
can use data from LDAP to control access and permissions);
* new setup modules (including backup, DHCP- and FTP-servers);
* a modern mailing server (Postfix) with SpamAssassin and ClamAV to keep
your mail clean;
* x86_64 supported in addition to plain x86.

The distribution includes:
Linux kernel based on 2.6, glibc 2.5, libgcc 4.1.1, Python 2.4.4, RPM
based on 4.0.4, OpenLDAP 2.3.35, OpenSSH 4.7p1, Apache 1.3.41 и 2.2.6,
Postfix 2.4.7, SpamAssassin 3.2.1, ClamAV 0.92.1, OpenSSL 0.9.8d,
Samba 3.0.28, MySQL 5.0.51, PostgreSQL 8.2.4.
