Меня "спасает" вот такая конструкция в /etc/fstab
VOL1/nwuser.CON.TEXT /home/user/nw ncpfs \
defaults,tcp,user,mode=640,uid=user,gid=user,owner=user,iocharset=koi8-r,codepage=cp866,\
volume=VOL1,user=nwuser.CON.TEXT,ipserver=novell.dns.loc,passwdfile=/home/user/.nwpasswd
$HOME/.nwpasswd - файл с паролем вот в таком виде
VOL1/nwuser.CON.TEXT:secret
