Можно. Например, я официально выпускаю сборки с sysvinit
в составе http://altlinux.org/starterkits; Speccyfighter
официально вешает баги: https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/31501;
наш майнтейнер NM официально помогает со своим хозяйством:
