Возможно, на ALM2.4 были вручную установлены какие модули под него.
По возможности поставьте на старенькой машинке и посмотрите,
заводилось ли на штатных драйверах. Если да -- заметьте,
на каких именно (dmesg | grep tty).
Сейчас при прочих равных более резонно ставить что-то на p7.
