Да он вообще для разных файловых систем может быть разным по формату:
# blkid
/dev/sda1: TYPE="swap" UUID="9c07bd6e-de3e-44d5-9688-e88925121674"
/dev/sda2: UUID="9d2062b7-bfe0-4bbf-8486-9896c3399d4d" SEC_TYPE="ext2"
TYPE="ext3"
/dev/sda3: UUID="2f154cd5-36a3-4363-b19e-59f4288ff5b1" TYPE="ext4"
/dev/sdb1: UUID="3F5C009232E88147" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sdc1: SEC_TYPE="msdos" UUID="D0F5-AD57" TYPE="vfat"
/dev/sdd: LABEL="Nicolas" TYPE="hfs"
