После "брожения" по Updates, Backports, Branch ветки 4.0 выяснилось,
что некоторые пакеты в Backports по версии меньше или аналогичны Branch...
Учитывая содержимое раздела "Репозитории ALT Linux" из
ftp://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/4.0/Desktop/current/docs/manual_config.next/index.html
возникает вопрос ПОЧЕМУ ?
