не совсем пронял "для зеркала сизифа", но копию делает такой скрипт:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/rsync -va --stats --delete-after
rsync.altlinux.ru::ALTLinux/4.1/ /var/ftp/pub/mirror/altlinux/4.1
а сервер просто ftp. В локалке все с него обновляются
