Под Linux, разумеется? Ибо под Win* масса прог. Какая FS?
Можно хотя бы успеть скинуть образ с пока еще живого винта с пропуском
сбойных секторов:
dd if=/dev/hdXX of=/path/to/big/file conv=noerror
Можно перед этим пройтись MHDD в неразрушающем скане.

Используйте S.M.A.R.T. Используйте MHDD.

Не под Linux (под Win), но работает с ext2:

A tool to retrieve data from partial Ext2 filesystems.
Да и сами e2fsprogs много что умеют.
Кроме того, под Linux ( под windows - само собой) есть проги,
восстанавливающие различные типы файлов из raw data по их структуре.
