Угу, самое удобное дело! :))
Вот тут даже есть прикидка, которую можно вставлять в юзерский кронтаб,
только он направлен на звуковое оповещение событий и проговаривание
текста голосом. Формат записей ожидает в виде дневника emacs, который из
себя представляет файл со строками следующего вида:
Feb 4, 2011 День рождения дяди Вани
