Чем плох я уже говорил - отличается он сильно от других СУБД. Причем
чем больше в потроха его лезешь - тем больше отличий видно.
Язык у него сильно отличается. Переносить базу с Interbase например на
PostgreSQL проще застрелиться.
Хорош он тем что он не жрет много ресурсов, версионник (deadlock
бывает очень редко) и требует минимум администрирования. Хотя большие
базы (больше 20G данных) с множеством таблиц таскает с трудом.
Мы его используем потому что его нетребовательность администрирования
часто перевешивает все неудобства. Кроме того он мультиплатформенный и
вполне нормально под Win32 работает.
