Я начинал знакомство с Linux с Knoppix 3.1, для знакомства то
что нужно. Кстати, если кто не в курсе, запускать Кноппикс можно
с жесткого диска скопировав файлы с CD и создав загрузочную
дискету (в новых 2), и СD не насилуется. У этого способа есть
еще одна особенность - на тот раздел куда переписан Кноппикс
ничего записать и удалить не получится, т.е. переписываешь его в
раздел с виндовз (если место позволяет) и юзверь из Кноппикса
ничего запороть не сможет при всем своем желании.
Это нужно обЪяснять тем пользователям кто за свою "дрогоценную
виндовс" боится.
Из минусов то что небольшой процент программ возможно может
глючить или не запускаться. Но это возможно особенность
live-cd.
