Разобрался, почему не работали rocksndiamonds и mangoquest.
У нескольких файлов(pcx) было попорчено содержимое, так что
rpm -V ругался на md5.
Но, все это привело к еще большей загадке. Оказывается, через
неравномерные промежутки времени после установки пакета, эти
файлы(ну, не только эти, а вообще любые из числа pcx)
вновь оказываются испорченными. Причем это может произойти как сразу
после установки пакета, так и через пару-тройку часов.
az@reks ~ $ sudo rpm -Uhv --force /var/cache/apt/archives/rocksndiamonds-sp_1.0-ipl1_noarch.rpm /var/cache/apt/archives/rocksndiamonds_2.0.0-alt4_i586.rpm

rocksndiamonds ######################################################################
rocksndiamonds-sp #########################################

Сразу же(!) пускаю rpm -V:
az@reks ~ $ rpm -V rocksndiamonds
..5..... /usr/share/games/rocksndiamonds/graphics/RocksHeroes.pcx
..5..... /usr/share/games/rocksndiamonds/graphics/RocksMore.pcx
Файлы уже запорчены.
az@reks ~ $ sudo rpm -Uhv --force /var/cache/apt/archives/rocksndiamonds-sp_1.0-ipl1_noarch.rpm /var/cache/apt/archives/rocksndiamonds_2.0.0-alt4_i586.rpm

rocksndiamonds ######################################################################
rocksndiamonds-sp ######################################################################
az@reks ~ $ rpm -V rocksndiamonds
Все нормально. Но через неопределенное время некоторые из файлов в
/usr/share/games/rocksndiamonds/graphics/(не обязательно
RocksHeroes.pcx и RocksMore.pcx вновь будут испорчены).
Теряюсь в догадках.
