Кто подскажет сирому и убогому, который сильно отсал от жизни, чем
принципиально отличается запуск Х-ов через xdm/gdm от запуска с
помощью xinit? Это вопрос меня сильно заинтересовал после целого дня
битвы за compiz на eeePC, и когда я устал логиниться и запустил Х-ы
из консоли - все заработало сразу и без глюклв, Х-ы полученные от
логин-менеджера всегда валяться при попытке запустить compiz
--replace, при этом ничего не пишется ни в /var/log/Xorg.0.log ни в
~/.xsession-errors...
