И сам же себе отвечаю: если сайт хочет именно Arial, то все хорошо. А
бывает, что хочет Helvetica;Arial, и вот тут браузер пишет, что он
подставляет Arial, а на самом деле Helvetica, а fc-match -s helvetica
говорит, что на первом месте идут шрифты из пакета
fonts-bitmap-75dpi
которые такие, какие они есть. Если пакет снести, то шрифты в ФФ
нормализуются.
