Вышел релиз php v4.3.2, в связи с чем хочется вспомнить _мега_
баг в дистрибутиве ALM2.2:

И это не всё. Есть ещё один, приводящий к SEGFAULT:
функция imagecreatefromstring() работает _ТОЛЬКО_ с идущей в
составе php версией gd2, а входящие в Сизиф gd1-1.8.4 и gd2-2.0.4
не живут с php. Также следует обратить внимание, что php.net
отказались от поддержки gd1 на платформе win32, а это - прямой
путь к отказу от пакета php-gd1 ввиду полной непригодности к
использованию и отказа php.net от поддержки совместимости с gd1.
Просьба к майнтейнеру: не собирать заведомо не работающий пакет
php-gd1, а при сборке php-gd2 использовать не общесистемную
libgd2, а входящую в состав php, в последнем релизе - gd 2.0.12
