На самом деле это плющит xterm. Дело в том, что некоторые 8-битные символы
по традиции воспринимаются как контролы, что в ряде случаев приводит к
печальным последствиям. Должно лечиться опцией ресурсов eightBitControl,
но почему-то не лечится. Для себя я сделал патч, решающий эту проблему в
лоб (в аттаче), если хотите - пересоберите свой xterm.
Патч я отравлял майнтейнеру xterm (ldv), но принят ли он - не знаю.
