Это я уже знаю. Исправлю (в среду-четверг).

Вот здесь - с самого начала и до самого конца, полностью пошагово. У меня
нет sockd, я не являюсь, слава Богу, администратором в нашей конторе и у
меня нет опыта настройки sockd.

Гхм, это, скорее не ко мне, а к http://www.inet.no/dante/

licq НАДО пересобирать с разрешенным socks'ом. Собственно, именно
для этого я себе данте и собирал, теперь все замечательно работает :-))
Вообще говоря, вместе с dante.src.rpm я заливал в инкаминг и licq.src.rpm,
в котором был флажок, собирать с/без socks'а. Спрашивайте в аптеках
вашего города :-).
