Правильно говорит, потому что с gcc4.3 раньше вообще глючило, пришлось
перейти на gcc4.1.

Есть такое - gcc4.3 более умный, и ловит больше переполнений буфера.
Для этого в Сизифном пакете есть специальный патч.

Да, даже бага была в багзилле на эту тему, но я думал что ее решил
переходом на gcc4.1.
Значит надо опять искать, где может быть собака зарыта.
