Просто заменил в xorg.conf драйвер fglrx на драйвер avivo.
Вот результаты:
1. Держится родное разрешение (1680x1050)
2. Нет DRI. Вопрос - можно ли включить, или пока этого не будет?
3. Отлично работает XVideo - VLC показывает кино. Тормозит меньше, чем
вывод через OpenGL на драйвере fglrx. На драйвере fglrx xvideo
работало очень криво, в частности портится видео если параллельно в
окне браузера (konqueror, seamonkey, firefox) прокручивать странички с
графикой.
Пока вроде не вылетало, но надо проверять подольше. Завтра отпишу,
пропали ли вылеты иксов или нет. Ну вообще avivo видимо может быть
достойной альтернативой fgrlx, если не нужно DRI.
