Ну зачем ломать устоявшуюся традицию?
Для сервера 100% надо.
Для десктопа тоже.
Намример сценарий: Поставил. Предложило перегрузиться. Перегрузился.
Нужно с диска загрузиться. Если пункта нет, то нужно вынимать диск,
опять ребутаться.
