Как оказалось -- зря... :-(
Дублирую, отправленное в hardware@:
С данным BIOS бук не загружается, если в нём установлены планки на
512Мб. С 1Гб планками -- всё нормально (но сам не проверял: ищу где
добыть, на время, такую планку).
