Спасибо за наводку. Всё оказалось несколько интересней. :)
Я пользуюсь Гномом. И удалял файлы через Нау. Он предлагает удаление
в корзину и, как оказалось, эту корзину создает прямо на флешке но
не показывает. :) В результате имеем флешку вроде с тремя файлами, а
реально ещё и со скрытой корзиной которая и забивает флеш под
завязку. Удалил мусорник и всё стало нормально. Такая вот повальная
дружественность и интуитивная понятность...
Переформатирование откладывается.
