Я тоже пытался в нём работать, но не смог заставить плавно менять
толщину линий (у него она меняется через 1 пункт, а для меня 1 -- тонко,

Хорошо, попробую собрать plotutils. Если не трудно, киньте, пожалуйста,
ссылочку на дебиановский патч, раз вы его уже нашли.
