Де факто положение дел такое, что надо самостоятельно патчить для Сизифа
и потом в апстрим толкать.

Потому что на данном этапе развития программописания с помощью
GCC/autotools так всё устроено - libxxx.so нужен только для devel-опмента.
Опять же, Если я не прав, прошу поправить.
