Имхо - нет.
Чрут с одной стороны недостаточен для полной изоляции (мало что ли докальных эксплойтов до рута), но уже вносит множество проблем в поддержке в любой нестандартной ситуации.
Так что либо надо использовать стандартную конфигурацию, либо делать, так делать. :)
Одно точно - молчком перетаскивать ping из чрута в vserver, как его до этого перетащили в чрут точно не стоит! :))
