Посмотрел на фидошный софт в сизифе (hpt, htick и т.д.)
Приятно сделано, но есть и вопросы:
1. Некоторая мелкая несогласованность в конфигах, например,
перекодировка включена как в конфиге голдеда, так и в примере конфига
для hpt.
2. Явно не хватает утилиты для упаковки баз - в смысле реального
удаления удаленных сообщений (sqpack или что-то в этом роде), или я
что-то пропустил?
3. При установке пакета qico-0.49.10-alt0.3.i586.rpm имеем вылет из-за
ошибки в скрипте (правда это может быть из-за того, что у меня что-то не
обновлено).
Это происходит при попытке выполнить
"/sbin/chkconfig --add qico"
сообщение об ошибке
"ошибка чтения информации о сервисе qico: No such file or directory"
4. А как насчет посмотреть в сторону X-qico?

насколько я понимаю, это иксовая оболочка к самому qico.
Что касаемо работы всего этого, то поставил (qico с --noscripts), руками
подправил конфиги, права доступа и запуск, все пока работает без нареканий.
