Попробуйте поставить tango-icon-theme, например.
Похоже в Rodent просто нет нужных иконок.

В смысле нет индикатора? Плагин отсутствует на панели или теряет
раскладки? С этим однозначно в багзиллу, я попробую воспроизвести.
