Выпущена бета-версия комплекта дистрибутивов Альт Линукс Ковчег (версия 5.0.0)
для корпоративного и домашнего использования. Комплект включает в себя:
серверный дистрибутив ALT Linux 5.0 Office Server и два дистрибутива для
рабочих станций: ALT Linux 5.0 Desktop (с KDE4) и ALT Linux 5.0 Gnome Desktop
(c GNOME).
В комплекте резко увеличивается эффективность совместного использования
сервера и рабочих станций: единая аутентификация, сетевые ресурсы монтируются
автоматом, анонс служб по Zeroconf. Полезной возможностью станут виртуальные
машины (KVM и OpenVZ) из загружаемых профилей. Для новичков удобным будет
управлять сервером через веб-интерфейс на AJAX (Alterator).
