Маленькое HOWTO для тех, кто хочет заменить metacity на свой
любимый WM. Выяснено экспериментальным путём, с матами,
гуглением и подниманием на уши Юрия Седунова ;-)
Нужно добавить в пакет Provides: gnome-wm. Это чтобы можно было
снести все "неправильные" оконные менеджеры ;-)
Далее нужен специального вида .desktop файл. Совершенно
необходимы ключи:
NoDisplay=true
X-GNOME-WMName=ИМЯ
X-GNOME-Autostart-Phase=WindowManager
X-GNOME-Provides=windowmanager
X-GNOME-Autostart-Notify=true
Для совместимости со старым крапплетом (который я, кстати, так и
не нашёл ;-) этот файл надо класть и в /usr/share/applications/ и
в /usr/share/gnome/wm-properties/ .
Далее в /desktop/gnome/session/required_components/windowmanager
(gconf) написать ИМЯ и можно наслаждаться.
Пример в пакете sawfish.
