Они оба (sysklogd и klogd) запускаются рутом, инициализируются, после чего
понижают права до непривилегированных пользователей в чрутах. Вы всё же
поднимите архив, там написано и про это, и про то, почему и как upstream
эту схему сломали, и многое другое.
