Доброго времени суток!
А почему у нас пакет MySQL-server провайдит safe_mysqld, вместо mysqld_safe,
как RedHat/Fedora, SuSE и Debian/Ubuntu? Хотя Сизифовский же man рекомендует:
"mysqld_safe is the recommended way to start a mysqld server on Unix..."
Проблема в том, что у меня из-за этого не ставится rpm со SqueezeCenter от
www.slimdevices.com. Разработчики утверждают, что safe_mysqld никто, кроме
ALTLinux не использует. Да еще он у нас в /usr/sbin вместо /usr/bin. Впрочем,
если можете подсказать, как более разумным способом проверить наличие в
системе установленного MySQL сервера, то я постараюсь до разработчиков
донести это знание.
Красивая софтина, а из тарбола ставить неохота - он у них еще более кривой,
чем rpm.
