Там хуже, см. вправление мне мозгов pilot по части автозапуска
ifplugd (в bugzilla).
Если кратко -- Linux suxx, особенно по части инфраструктуры
сетевого железа. Умеют отдельные драйверы, хотя могли бы чуть ли
не все.
