В БИОСе руками введены параметры или как?

Прикол такой. Мне vsu на #altlinux как-то объяснял, что 2.4 считают 255
цилиндров, а 2.6 - 16, из-за этого иногда возникают проблемы разной
степени тяжести (например, якобы неправильно созданные разделы, если
создавали на одной схеме, а смотрят на другой).

Не согласен. В нормальной системе этого не бывает.
