В ядрах 2.6 для него есть модуль stir4200. В 2.4 так просто не
перетаскивается - API поменяли и для USB, и для IrDA.

Баг в модуле pg (вместо чего-нибудь типа -ENODEV возвращается -1,
что соответствует -EPERM). Аналогичное безобразие в разных
вариантах присутствует во всех модулях paride. Последний раз в 2.4
их трогали 2-3 года назад.
Впрочем, страшного ничего не происходит - просто выдаётся неверное
сообщение.

cdrecord автоматом лезет в /dev/pg*, если не находит ничего на
/dev/sg*.
