В std-up, кажется, есть и ide-scsi; а писать -- при помощи
"dev=/dev/hdc" или где оно там.

subfs -- это Хорошая Штука, которая пока вызывала только
радостные эмоции; возьмите спек от соотв. std-up, поправьте,

Тихий: рассмотрите повнимательней alsamixer, особенно по части
DXS-ползунков.
Заикается/циклится: через какие программы проходит звук? что
если заменить snd-via82xx на via82cxxx_audio? (если нормально --
вешайте информацию на hwdatabase с указанием `lspcidrake -v`)
