Вроде не существенно.
Использую wine с указанных времен до приведенного выше в основном
для запуска IBExpert + Firebird :-).
Установки почти "по умолчанию". Подправлял в конфиге только
секцию [Drive C], предварительно создав ~/wine_c.

"Path" = "%HOME%/wine_c"
"Type" = "hd"
Особых проблем нет.
ВНИМАНИЕ!
Имели место быть грабли!
Изначально "натравил" wine на раздел с установленной 98-й
(смонтированный в rw режиме), после чего в ней (в смысле самой
Винде) развалились настройки шрифтов и приложения Оффице
запускаться перестали (падали с диагностикой, что шрифт Тахома
не найден).
