Это давно уже не так - видимо, в системе остался старый пакет XFree86-xfs.

Пожалуйста, точнее. Машина является клиентом или сервером NFS? В случае
сервера - какая локальная файловая система экспортируется? Как именно
"дохнет" - реагирует ли на ping, Alt-SysRq? Появляются ли какие-то
сообщения на консоли?
