сделал
$ rm -rf ~/.menu-updates.stamp ~/.kde/share/applnk*
потом снова
# update-menus -n
без изменений...
под IceWM и WindowMaker меню нормальное, под KDE - огрызок...
ситуация повторяется под всеми пользователями...
