Это мы проходили. Запустить KDE Control Center, зайти в Звук, выключить arts
сервер, запустить Xine, настройка в режиме эксперта, выбрать драйвер звука
arts, выйти из Xine, снова включить загрузку arts в KDE, запустить Xine --
все должно заработать. Правда теперь только в KDE :-(. Через soundwrapper
Xine не работает, по крайней мере у меня не получилось.

Это alt-update, его лучше выключить раз и навсегда или снести. Пользуйтесь
apt-get в консоли (лучше всего) или synaptic.
