Это точно - не спасло, это я попробовал с самого начала...

Ну, скажем так: как раз в 2.4.21 все и поменялось. У меня сейчас 2.4.20-alt7 -
там все работает без каких-либо дополнительных выкрутасов ("из коробки"). А
вот в 2.4.21 стали использовать другой патч (не от promise, который был
раньше) - может быть это уже и не патч, а у разработчиков ядра руки дошли.

Буду смотреть... DarkStar сказал, что знает решение, но после этих слов я
больше не могу его найти :-)
