Если mozilla собрана с поддержкой gtk+2, то
export GDK_USE_XFT=0
PS Меня тоже бесили расплывчатые буквы в mozilla, пока не
догадался настроить нормальные шрифты, запускать
gnome-settings-daemon и подобрать нужный вариант сглаживания (их
дофига).
